Imin Yeh

Imin Yeh works in media that include sculpture, installation, participatory events and print. Her projects use repetitive handcraft and mimicry to explore the unseen labor and production lying behind everyday objects. In November 2020, a few months after moving to Pittsburgh, Yeh visited the Pittsburgh Post Gazette’s deactivated presses to create “September 14, 2014,” the last day the presses ran off newspapers. She took photographs throughout the pressroom, composed them into a collage and then carved the images into a wooden block for printing. A limited edition of 12 have been printed and can be purchased from the artist (iminyeh.info).
